Do you have an important specialty crop that is facing trade issues or have pest resistance problems with available pest management practices? Consider adding your crop/pest combination priority to the Global Minor Use Priority List (GMUPL). We’ll review your submission and add it to our list that informs the priority setting process and the work of the Minor Use Foundation.
Please review the current Global Minor Use Priority List (GMUPL) prior to making your submission. The list includes more than 3,500 crop/pest combinations, so we ask that you please review it carefully.
Before submitting a priority for the GMUPL, please take the following points into consideration:
1. Focus on crop-pest combinations with limited control options, but there are potential solutions (Pesticides that control the pest).
2. Focus is on horticultural/minor crops rather than agronomic crops.
3. Focus on solutions that do not currently have a CODEX MRL on that crop. You can see existing CODEX MRLs by pesticide name here, and it lists the crops that have an MRL. https://www.fao.org/fao-who-codexalimentarius/codex-texts/dbs/pestres/pesticides/en/
4. Focus on situations in which currently registered products are causing trade issues or have pest resistance problems.
Your submission will be reviewed by the Foundation prior to addition to the GMUPL.
