Background
Prior to the Workshop, participants went through a process of nominating priorities of interest from a list of more than 3,500 crop/pest combinations and submitted new priorities to develop a targeted list for further refinement. Participants then submitted their top five priorities based on the targeted list. The Minor Use Foundation tallied scores based on how priorities were ranked and the number of countries ranking the crop/pest combination to present a preliminary ranking for Workshop participants to discuss.
During the Workshop participants systematically progressed through the ranked priorities and provided critical input to further refine the crop/pest combinations and identify top priorities for the region.
After the Workshop, the Foundation conducted follow up data collection and analysis to further understand company support, cooperators and capacity prior to announcing the results of the Workshop. As additional information becomes available, the list of priorities may be adjusted.
