Pasifloras, or passion fruits, are a critical crop for Colombian international exports that have enhanced the wealth of the country’s smallholder farmers and supplied hundreds of jobs for Latin American workers. Marisol Parra directs the international export of pasifloras from Colombia at Avance Pasifloras Colombia in partnership with the Minor Use Foundation. Together we have created access to the technologies and agrochemicals necessary for Colombian pasifloras to flourish. With over 800 pasiflora producers, the industry generates extensive value to Colombian agriculture, trade, and employment.
